La Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 VII è una fotocamera ultra compatta con zoom lungo con un sensore da 1" di nuova concezione da 20 Megapixel. È dotata di un obiettivo F2.8-4.5 equivalente a 24-200 mm, LCD touchscreen ribaltabile e un intelligente mirino OLED pop-up.L'RX100 VII è in grado di scattare brevissime raffiche a 90 fps e può scattare senza interruzioni a 20 fps.

Sul lato video, Mark VII acquisisce video UHD 4K sovracampionati, Full HD fino a 120 fps e video a risoluzione inferiore con una frequenza fotogrammi massima di quasi 1000 fps. A differenza del suo predecessore, l'RX100 VII ha un ingresso microfono integrato.

Le opzioni di connettività includono Wi-Fi, Bluetooth e NFC.
